Please Read the Rules!

The Purpose of this room:

Have a Tulip (HAT) Chat was created for and by Reformed Christian believers as a space for fellowship and for the furtherance of in-depth learning of Reformed theology. This is essentially a PRIVATE room, we are not a part of any organization or ministry. This room is NOT a room for evangelism, nor for arguing the validity of Reformed soteriology, nor for cults, skeptics or atheists. To be clear this does not mean we believe in elitism or that the gospel or correct understand of Scriptures should not be preached or taught to the world; however, like the function of a Church is for believers, this Chat functions as a place for Calvinists.

Who Can Join This Room:

HAT Chat is not a public access room. All Christians are welcomed to join, but if you are not Reformed or Reforming you will be held accountable to your submittance of the RULES and DOCTRINES of HAT Chat.

Basic Chat Rules:

Rules may be updated as time progresses, so please check back from time to time.

  1. Thou may not ...argue, state, or insinuate in a dogmatic fashion that the soteriological 5 points of Calvinism are unbiblical or heretical.

  2. Thou may...ask questions for clarification of what Calvinism is.

  3. Thou may ...debate and ask questions regarding eschatology, baptism, or other doctrines not related to soteriological doctrine. However we tolerate no debate on doctrines such as human autonomy, universalism, oneness theology, or any other doctrine that goes contrary to Reformed soteriology or the historic Christian faith. These doctrines can be discussed but are not up for debate, as they are considered erred and/or heretical.

  4. Thou may not ...recruit people from other Christian Chat Rooms by displaying the link to this room in their main lobby or giving the link to people privately while they are still in another Christian chat room, unless the owner or moderator of that room grants you permission.

  5. Thou may ...invite friends (reformed or not) to join this room, but they must submit to HAT Chat rules.

  6. Thou may not...use profanity, be disrespectful, unnecessarily crude, or take the Lord's name in vain (i.e. OMG). Please be courteous to each other and exercise gentleness and respect when debating and discussing.

  7. Thou may not...form a screen name that blasphemes God, carries sexual or violent innuendos, is maliciously offensive to any denomination of Christianity, or is ridiculously lengthy .

  8. Thou may...post a link in the main room if it is a Christian link. If it is secular please make sure it does not contain graphic or explicit content. If you are unsure, please contact an administrator for clarification before posting.

  9. Thou may not...log into the chat room under multiple screen names.

Special Chat Rules for Open Chat Sessions:

During Open Chat Sessions for Gene Cook's radio program The Narrow Mind, HAT chat will be open to all who wish to come. Registration will not be requried for users wishing to participate in the chat room during this time. After The Narrow Mind program has ended users will be required to register if they desire further use of HAT Chat; basic rules and the original purpose of this room will then be reinforced.

  • At this time debate on all positions and topics dealing with religion and the christian faith will be allowed.

  • Please give your name and where you are from along with your question to a Moderator (those whose names are in green font) so that your question can be answered (Ex. Joe, San Francisco, What is the difference between the PCUSA and PCA?)

  • All other Basic Chat Rules are still in effect.

Consequences of Rule Violations:

The penalty for breaking the rules are simple. You will get 2 warnings; upon the 3rd time you commit an offense you will be expelled from further use of HAT Chat.

Warnings do reset, so a person need not worry about the warning he or she obtained days ago counting towards his or her expulsion.

On cases of disrespect towards a fellow believer, the discretion of the administrators and input from other members of HAT will be exercised in the best means to deal with the situation. A repentance and apology may be all that is necessary.
